01Report assessment and rationalization
Inventory report files, business owners, data sources, dependencies and delivery needs. Identify duplicated, unused or fragile reports and prioritize the ones that affect business operations or require a platform change.
02Report design and development
Develop structured layouts, formulas, parameters, grouping and subreports around the intended business document. Validate pagination, labels, totals and output formats against representative data and approved examples.
03Data-source and query remediation
Review database connections, SQL, stored procedures and report-level logic. Address source changes and performance issues with attention to parameter behavior, data completeness and the impact on dependent report sections.
04Upgrades and compatibility
Assess designer versions, runtimes, applications, operating systems and database drivers. Plan the relevant upgrade and test path, including 32-bit and 64-bit dependencies where applicable, before changing production reports.
05Application and platform integration
Scope report embedding, access, execution and delivery within the appropriate application or reporting platform. Validate SDK, runtime and licensing requirements for the specific integration and deployment model.
06Distribution and ongoing support
Review scheduling, publications or other distribution mechanisms available in the selected platform. Help teams investigate failures, apply controlled changes, maintain report definitions and document operational responsibilities.
