YOUR CONTENT. CONNECTED.
Keep business context under control.

Object models, permissions, versions and lifecycle rules connect each document to the way your business works.

In short

What does TechTiera do for OpenText Documentum?

TechTiera is an OpenText partner that covers the full Documentum lifecycle with one team. We review and optimize licenses, resell OpenText Documentum licenses, implement and enhance applications, upgrade to current releases, migrate content with our DocOrbit platform, integrate Documentum with SAP, Microsoft 365 and other systems, run health checks, and provide application support, maintenance and managed services.

  • IT and ECM owners running older Content Server, Webtop or D2 versions that need a supported path forward.
  • Quality, regulatory and records teams in life sciences, energy and government who need controlled, auditable content.
  • Procurement and finance who want to know what they own, what they use and what the next renewal should cost.
  • Leaders planning a move to OpenText Cloud Edition, containers or a different content platform.

Why act now

Four reasons Documentum owners are planning changes in 2026–2027

Webtop maintenance transition

Plan your Webtop modernization

OpenText lists current maintenance for Webtop 16.7.9 through January 31, 2027, followed by sustaining maintenance. We review your release and entitlements, then plan a suitable D2 Smart View transition.

Cloud Edition releases

Version gaps keep widening

Documentum Content Management now ships regular Cloud Edition releases, such as 26.2 in June 2026. We assess compatibility, dependencies and the changes needed for your target release.

AI and search

Content Aviator needs clean content

AI assistants and semantic search only help when metadata, permissions and retention are right. We review metadata quality, access controls and retention before AI rollout, then evaluate answer quality against your use cases.

Renewal pressure

Licenses rarely match usage

Many estates pay for users, modules or environments they no longer need. A license review before renewal identifies potential savings and informs your modernization budget.

Documentum services

Every Documentum service, from license to long-term support

Start with one focused engagement or run the whole lifecycle with a single accountable team. Each service is delivered by consultants who work on Documentum every day.

Own

License and advisory

License analysis

Reconcile entitlements against deployed servers, named and concurrent users, modules and environments.

License optimization advisory

Right-size user counts and modules, retire unused products and plan renewal or subscription moves.

License resale

Buy OpenText Documentum licenses and subscriptions through TechTiera as an authorized OpenText partner.

Strategy and roadmap

Architecture review, target-state design and a costed roadmap aligned to business priorities.

Build

Implement and extend

Implementation

Enhancements and development

D2 configuration, xCP applications, DFC/REST services, BOF modules and custom jobs.

Integrations

SAP, Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Teams, Salesforce, Guidewire, capture and line-of-business systems.

Modernize

Move to OpenText Cloud, private cloud or Kubernetes with a tested deployment pipeline.

Content migration

Into, between or out of Documentum, using DocOrbit with full metadata, versions and audit trails.

Run

Support and operate

Health checks

Fixed-scope review of configuration, performance, security, jobs and storage with a prioritized fix list.

Performance tuning

Diagnose slow logins, search, rendering and failed jobs across application, database and infrastructure.

Application support and maintenance

L1, L2 and L3 support, patching, administration and small enhancements under agreed service levels.

Managed services

Ongoing ownership of your Documentum platform with onsite, remote and offshore coverage.

Documentum licensing

Align Documentum licenses with actual usage

Most Documentum consultancies only deliver services. As an OpenText partner, TechTiera also helps you understand, optimize and buy your licenses, so technical and commercial decisions are made together.

Typical findings include inactive named users, modules installed but never adopted, and non-production environments counted at production rates.

  1. Collect entitlementsContracts, order forms, support renewals and subscription terms.
  2. Measure real usageUsers, repositories, servers, modules and environments, taken from the platform itself.
  3. Find the gapShortfalls that create audit risk and surplus that costs money each year.
  4. Recommend the right modelRight-sizing, product consolidation, or a move to subscription or Cloud Edition.
  5. Procure and renewPurchase licenses and renewals through TechTiera, aligned to your roadmap.

License advisory is commercial guidance. Final terms are set by your agreement with OpenText.

Questions, answered

OpenText Documentum consulting FAQs

What does a Documentum consultant do?

A Documentum consultant designs, implements, upgrades, integrates and supports OpenText Documentum. At TechTiera that also includes license analysis, license optimization advice, license resale, health checks, content migration and managed services.

Is TechTiera an OpenText partner?

Yes. TechTiera is an authorized OpenText partner and can resell OpenText Documentum licenses and subscriptions alongside consulting, implementation and support services.

Can you help us reduce our Documentum license costs?

Yes. We compare your entitlements with real usage across users, modules, servers and environments, then recommend right-sizing or a different license model before your renewal. Final terms depend on your agreement with OpenText.

How long does a Documentum upgrade take?

It depends on the version gap, customizations, integrations and validation needs. A small, lightly customized environment can move in weeks. Large or validated estates take several months. Our upgrade roadmap gives you a firm plan and estimate.

What changes with Webtop maintenance in 2027?

OpenText lists current maintenance for Webtop 16.7.9 through January 31, 2027, with sustaining maintenance from February 1, 2027. This is a change in maintenance phase, not a statement that Webtop stops working. We confirm the policy for your release and entitlements, inventory customizations and plan a D2 Smart View transition. Product-specific extensions may apply.

How do D2 and Smart View fit our modernization?

D2 provides configurable, rule-driven document applications. D2 Smart View provides a modern user experience within the Documentum client ecosystem. We assess your existing client, extensions and user tasks to choose the appropriate D2 and Smart View configuration.

Can Documentum run in the cloud?

Yes. Documentum can run on OpenText Cloud, in a private cloud, on public cloud infrastructure or in Kubernetes containers. We help choose the model, then plan and execute the move.

Can documents, metadata and permissions be preserved during migration?

Yes. DocOrbit migrates content with versions, metadata, permissions and audit history. Every file is checksum-validated and reconciliation reports confirm what moved.

Can Documentum integrate with Microsoft 365, SAP and Salesforce?

Yes. We build integrations with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Teams, SAP, Salesforce, Guidewire, capture tools and line-of-business systems using REST, DFC and supported connectors.

Do you support validated life sciences environments?

Yes. We work with Documentum for Life Sciences and other GxP environments and produce validation documentation with your quality team, including support for 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 requirements.

What is a Documentum health check?

A fixed-scope review of configuration, performance, search, jobs, storage, security and operations. You receive a prioritized list of fixes with effort estimates.

Does TechTiera offer ongoing Documentum support?

Yes. We provide L1, L2 and L3 application support, maintenance and full managed services with agreed service levels, monthly reporting and onsite, remote or offshore coverage.
