Slow reports are usually a model problem. Our engineers use VertiPaq Analyzer, DAX Studio and Performance Analyzer to cut model size, remove high-cardinality columns, replace iterative DAX with set-based patterns, implement aggregations and incremental refresh, and tune capacity using the Fabric Capacity Metrics app to prevent throttling.

What does a Power BI consultant do?

Do we need Microsoft Fabric to use Power BI?

No. Power BI Pro and Premium Per User work without Fabric. Fabric adds value when you need a unified data platform, large-scale data engineering, near-real-time analytics or Direct Lake models over big data.

Why are our Power BI reports slow?

Most often because of large models with unnecessary columns, high-cardinality fields, inefficient DAX, bi-directional relationships or capacity throttling. A performance review usually identifies fixes that cut load times significantly.

How do you keep numbers consistent across reports?

By building shared, certified semantic models with documented measures that all reports use, instead of each report embedding its own logic.

Can Copilot answer questions from our Power BI data?
